Frequently Asked Questions
What is solution-based (solution-focused) coaching?
Solution-based coaching is a forward focused approach that centres on where you want to go, rather than analysing problems in depth.
Instead of dwelling on what’s wrong, we focus on:
Your desired outcome
Your strengths, values, and existing resources
What’s already working and how to build on it
Through coaching you’ll explore new perspectives, clarify what matters most to you, and identify meaningful actions that move you toward the life you want to create.
This approach is foundational to the Erickson Coaching philosophy and is strongly aligned with the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Core Competencies.
Is coaching right for me?
Coaching may be right for you if you:
Feel ready for change
Are open to self-reflection and new perspectives
Want to take ownership of your growth
Have a goal, desire, or sense of “something more” (even if it’s not fully clear yet)
Coaching isn’t a quick fix, it’s an investment in your future self. At times, reflection can feel challenging, but awareness creates choice, and choice creates change.
It is important to know that coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment, and is not intended to diagnose or treat mental health conditions
The best way to know if coaching is right for you is to experience it. A free introductory call allows us to explore this together.

What can I expect from coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative partnership focused on growth and possibility.
Our work together will be:

Collaborative: You are the expert in your life
Sustainable: Change that fits your values and real life
Do I need to prepare for sessions?
You’re welcome to come with a topic connected to your bigger goals. If something immediate arises, that’s equally valid, life happens, and coaching meets you where you are.
Is there anything expected between sessions?
You may choose actions or experiments to explore between sessions. These are always self-generated, and you decide what feels realistic and meaningful.
The purpose of these actions is to support your growth towards the person you want to become.
